James Dekleva began his piano training at the age of five. He is a graduate from the University of Western Australia where he studied piano performance under Jana Kovar who is still his current mentor. Performance highlights include playing in the 2014 Beethoven Marathon at Government House Ballroom Perth, solo recitals in Western Australia from 2015 onwards, and being chosen for continuo and orchestral pianist roles in operatic productions overseas and within Australia. Furthermore, James has qualified for the 16th International Beethoven Piano Competition 2021. James also has a keen interest in composition, having composed a piano trio, several songs for voice and piano, and some smaller solo piano works.
