Professor Jania Aubakirova
Jania Aubakirova graduated from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and accomplished a postgraduate program in Piano (Professor Lev Vlassenko's class).
1983 she won the Grand Prix of TheMargueriteLong and Jacques Thibaud International Piano Competition and a special prize of the same Competition, “For the Best Performance of Contemporary French Composers Works”.
1985 she won the Grand Prix International Competition of Chamber Ensembles of The Long-Thibaud Competition.
Jania Aubakirova collaborated with many musicians and music collectives such as Martha Argerich, Mikhail Pletnev, Valery Gergiev, David Geringas, Alexander Sladkovsky, Alexander Vedernikov, Denis Shapovalov, Marat Bisengaliev, Alexander Trostyanskiy Christophe Mangou, the Quartet «Danel», Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of French Radio, Symphony Orchestra of India, English Chamber Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, and others.
Jania Aubakirova regularly gives the concerts with well-known orchestras in Kazakhstan, the most famous halls in France, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Russia, Poland, Italy, USA, Israel, Greece, and Hungary. She played in Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau, Salle Alfred Cortot, Concert Hall in Sapporo, Grand Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, Slovac Philharmonic, Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Seoul's Arts Center,Vigoda Hall, Moscow International Music House, Saint- Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, Konzerthaus, Berliner Philharmoniker, Kennedy Centre and Carnegie Hall.
Jania Aubakirova was the head of the leading higher musical education institution — the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory for over twenty years. She has initiated a variety of projects in culture and education. Here are some of them: Jania Aubakirova Author School, Almaty International Piano Competition, Radio Classic - first classical music radio broadcast in Central Asia, she has also organized lots of large international projects in Kazakhstan and abroad.
Her pedagogical work has also found international recognition and she has often been invited to conduct master classes and give individual classes to young pianists all over the world.
Jania Aubakirova is the People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
