Afra Ming-Ying Su, 25, was born in Taiwan, where she studied piano from the age of eight. Afra moved to New Zealand at thirteen. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Otago under the guidance of Professor Terence Dennis in 2005.
She transferred to the University of Auckland’s School of Music in 2006 to complete her Honours year with Rae de Lisle. She has participated in several local and national competitions, winning a prize in the Kapiti Coast National Piano Competition. Afra has also received numerous scholarships. She is currently studying towards her Masters degree at Auckland University with Rae de Lisle. |
