| Afra Ming-Ying Su, 25, was born in Taiwan, where she studied piano from the age of eight. Afra moved to New Zealand at thirteen. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Otago under the guidance of Professor Terence Dennis in 2005. She transferred to the University of Auckland’s School of Music in 2006 to complete her Honours year with Rae de Lisle. She has participated in several local and national competitions, winning a prize in the Kapiti Coast National Piano Competition. Afra has also received numerous scholarships. She is currently studying towards her Masters degree at Auckland University with Rae de Lisle. |

| FINALISTS ANNOUNCED |

The 4 finalists of the 2007 competition are, in order of play: Oliver SHE The Finalists will compete for $20,000 First Prize, plus a $5,000 People's Choice Prize, which is voted by the audience on the Final night. The First Prize winner also receives a number of performance prizes in Australia and overseas. Each finalist will play a concerto with The Queensland Orchestra, conducted by Marco Zuccarini, on Saturday 25 August at 6:30 pm at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, Grey Street, Southbank, Brisbane.
