LIU, Denny Luyao
Denny Liu is a 16 year old student with a full music scholarship at New Zealand’s King’s College. Born in China, he commenced his piano studies at the age of six, and has been studying with Qu Yong since 2002. Denny has attended masterclasses of Tamas Vesmas, Michael Houstoun and Bryan Sayer. He has won a number of first prizes in recent competitions in New Zealand, including the 2006 Kerikeri National Piano Competition. As a soloist, Denny performed Tchaikovsky’s piano concerto opus 23 with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra for the Sky City Starlight Symphony Concert in 2007.
