LIN, Lo-An
Eighteen-year-old Lo-An Lin started taking piano lessons at the age of five. Since then, she has performed internationally in Taiwan, and across the US, including a recent performance at the Kennedy Center which was broadcast live over the internet. Lo-An currently studies with Yoshikazu Nagai at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has been a finalist and prizewinner of many competitions, including the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition (2nd prize 2006), New York Piano Competition, MMTA competition, Kosciusko Foundation Chopin Piano Competition, and Lennox International concerto competition. She has received first prizes in the 2003 Yamaha national piano competition in Taiwan, 2001 Hsing Tein Temple Taiwan national piano competition, 2001 Taipei Piano Competition, 2005 Viardo International Piano Competition, and 2006 MTNA National Piano Competition. Lo-An performed with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra as a winner of the 2005 concerto competition, and performed with Gerard Schwarz, conductor of the Seattle Symphony, at the 2006 Eastern Music Festival, and with the Royal Academy Orchestra in Toronto, Canada. Lo-An has taken masterclasses with Nelita True, John Perry, Robert Levin, Norman Krieger, Daniel Shapiro, Frank Weinstock, Steven Hough, Victoria Mushkatkol, Logan Skelton, Mikhail Solovei and Angela Chang.
