de JAGER, Peter
Peter de Jager, now 18, was born in South Africa, relocating to Australia at the age of two. Peter studied piano for five years with Nehama Patkin. In 2002 he began studying with Professor Stephen McIntyre, achieving his LMusA soon afterwards. In 2004 Peter was awarded first place in the Junior Concerto and Junior Composition sections of the Dandenong Festival of Music and Art for Youth, and in 2006 was Runner-up in the Recital section. He is a serious composer, having written music since the age of five. He participated in the Australian National Academy of Music’s Young Academy Program in 2005 and 2006 and is presently studying with Rita Reichman in ANAM’s Advanced Performance program.
