| FINALISTS ANNOUNCED |

The 4 finalists of the 2007 competition are, in order of play: Oliver SHE The Finalists will compete for $20,000 First Prize, plus a $5,000 People's Choice Prize, which is voted by the audience on the Final night. The First Prize winner also receives a number of performance prizes in Australia and overseas. Each finalist will play a concerto with The Queensland Orchestra, conducted by Marco Zuccarini, on Saturday 25 August at 6:30 pm at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, Grey Street, Southbank, Brisbane. | Liam Viney |
![]() 2001 winner Liam Viney was recently awarded his Doctorate in piano performance from Yale University. He was awarded the prize for most outstanding piano student at Yale, and is now performing extensively in the USA. (including two-piano performances with wife Anna Grinberg). In 2004, at the age of 26, he was appointed to the faculty at the California Institute of the Arts, where he teaches piano and theory. |
